Age is just a Number or is it?

Age is just a number, they say then why do we need to be a certain age to land a job no matter how skilled we are, why do people prefer Doctors who appear a certain age to treat them? Why is it automatically assumed that just because we are young we understand nothing or is it that an elderly person is too old to understand today's ongoing changes and learn to adapt? It all comes to one thing, assumption. We cannot deny the fact that we have generational gaps and that definitely impacts the way we perceive certain things. But in this world of change, it's us who need to change and bring an end to this matter. Let's start small and take one step at a time. For eg, try to explain certain trends to your grandparents, their reaction might surprise you or ask them about their time, ask your parents about their job sector or tell them about the recent advancements in the start-up field or education sector. The first step to anything is Communication, unless and until we don't have that, we can't expect someone else to bring the change, be it in ourselves or around the world. It starts with one, it starts with you!
