Players play, even when they are hurt or sick or in heightened stress, they play: no matter what they’re going through, what is happening in the world, they just do their part. I played in a national tournament with a high fever which then turned out to be dengue. As people say, efforts matter, satisfaction matters. Of course, the result also matters, I will not get all philosophical where people say that results don’t matter more than efforts. They do and they always will. But when the results do not turn out to be in your favor, the efforts will play a huge role in the psychological acceptance where you would know that you did give your 100% percent. My mother is the biggest motivator for our whole family. She pushes us to do and aim for things we never even would have thought of. She believes that when you want to do something, even if there are 100 reasons against it, that 1 good reason will keep you going. You will always find a way. The motivation to do something has to come from within, no external factor can contribute like your inner wish and power to do so. As Christian D Larson quotes, “Believe in yourself and all that you are, know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.”
