One of the best ways to connect yourself with the god or nature or your supreme power is prayer. Prayer is you talking to the God of your own understanding. Or, you might prefer to pray to the universe, nature, or whatever’s “out there.” It is a one-way conversation with you and your Higher Power. Prayer can be a very beautiful spiritual practice. While there is deep theological meaning in prayer, it doesn’t have to be something that is complicated and difficult. It’s something anyone can do anywhere at any time. Sometimes we forget just how powerful prayer is. We aren’t fighting against something imaginary. Our prayers are fighting against spiritual battles that linger in dark places. Prayer changes us. Prayer changes the way we think, the way we live, the way we see others and ourselves and even the way we breathe. One of the most important aspects of prayer in your life is the breakthroughs that come. Sometimes we are faced with devastating circumstances and feel we have nowhere to turn. It’s at that point we should pray with our whole hearts. Prayer is like a hope in the storm. Research says that prayer can be as beneficial as meditation as it calms your mind and it helps you to know yourself more. Even if you don't believe in God you can still do prayer - to your parents, to mother earth, to nature and to the whole cosmos for your better health and peace.
