Sewing and Stitching

Craftsmanship is one of the oldest industries in the world. It has been practiced since man learned to create products using his hands and artistic powers. The practice of sewing has been used since the Paleolithic Era, and our ancestors sewed fur and skin clothing with the help of bones, antlers, and ivory as needles and threads which were made from sinew, catgut, and even the veins of animals. It is mostly used for clothing, but it is also being used in the manufacture of shoes, upholstery, sails, bookbinding, and sporting goods. It is the foundation of embroidery, tapestry, quilting, applique, and patchwork. Few types of sewing are Fancy sewing, Plain sewing, Heirloom sewing. Sewing has two components: seams and stitches. Stitches are the results of the process of looping or turning thread or yarn. Stitching is a fundamental element of sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet, and other needlework. It can be made by hand or by machine, and there are seven basic stitches- Running stitch, Backstitch, Overcast stitch, Cross stitch, Buttonhole or blanket stitch, Chain stitch, Knot stitch. After ages also stitching and sewing has a top place in different industries because of its infinite variations and for sure in future also it will stay on top place.
